Attention all Volunteers, Interns, Trainees, TY Students and Casual Helpers.
We said we would address the issue of volunteering, internships early in the New Year. We are extremely grateful for the many offers of assistance and appreciate fully the fine expertise that is being offered in so many cases.
We expect that all major matters of re-organisation will be brought to a conclusion by the Annual General Meeting of the Irish Seal Sanctuary at the end of March, 2013.
Without a home we know you will appreciate it is not possible to engage any type of volunteers; and so the acquisition of one final abode will become the main aim of the ISS this year. Until such time, all your kind offers of assistance will be carefully recorded and we will revert to when our final goal has been achieved, that of a secure place of residence and work.
Our operation at this moment in time of ‘flying columns’ is working beyond all our highest expectations; extraordinarily well and has proven a true life-saver through this season. We cannot express our thanks and extreme good fortune in having found so many volunteer helpers whose main aim at all times has been the three R’s of the ISS, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release. With the help of these people in so many areas of Ireland we hope to carry on into the foreseeable future.
Keep your eye on the website for any official news of developments and on our Facebook page for the many daily events and happenings of the ISS.
